Nearing Level 45!
I turn 45 tomorrow. I am having a hard time wrapping my head around that. It feels like I just turned 44 last year.🤔
COMICS (That’s why you’re here, right?)
I was going through my iCloud and found an old series I started before I had kids. It is called The Legend of Crudak, and follows the adventures of the world’s worst wizard. Every so often an idea would pop into my head, and I would think “Damn, that would be a fun Crudak story!” Then, I would write it down, and go on living my life.
My kids are older now, and I’m finding that free time is slowly reemerging. This has me thinking that I finally have time to work on this comic again!
If I can find the original scans for those first comics, I’ll probably see if I can slice them up into a webtoon format and actually colour them. But for now, you can read them as I originally posted them...with outdated email addresses and domain names ta boot!
I finally got around to painting this month. I started on painting, but didn’t finish. It’s a work in progress. I wanted to finish it up with Posca markers, but every art store I go to tells me they are having distribution problems.
Anyway, here is what I’ve got so far:
I haven’t got a clue what I’m doing. That’s part of the reason I want to switch to Posca markers to finish it. Still, it was nice to turn my brain off for an hour and just throw paint on a canvas. I picked up a block printing kit. I may try that next month, or I might try painting miniatures.
In Other News...
I posted another old comic into a Quip last night. It was from a series I’m just not ready to start yet. Not sure I ever will be, but I like drawing those characters. I just need to find the right story.
Because I’m old now, I had to go to a special doctor for a test I didn’t want to do, and now he wants to see me for a more in depth examination. Here is a link to a video with absolutely no context whatsoever:
I found out the other day that my phone number is being used in something called Caller ID Spoofing. Long story short, my cellular provider has forwarded this to their fraud department to investigate, and now I have to go through the process of getting/learning a new phone number. You don’t realize just how many services and websites are tied to one phone number. Switching numbers now is a huge pain in the ass. More so than that previous bullet point. Emotionally, not physically.
Due to the phone number thing, I had to reactivate my Facebook, Instagram, etc, just so I could remove all traces of it from the web. I have to wait about seven days before I can re-deactivate them, so feel free to follow me on those services. If I see enough interaction on them, I might keep them live for a little while longer.
