Summer Rebrand
Changing things up for the 2nd half of 2026.

If you’re already a subscriber, you don’t have to do anything. I’ll be posting everything here. As for Patreon, I’ll only be posting Podcasts and Vlogs there for the time being. It’s been a while since my last dispatch, so I figured I should send out a Patreon only newsletter and let you all know what is going on.
The answer: Not much!
What’s Going On?
I was supposed to start posting Crudak comics here on a regular basis, but life got in the way and kept me from the drawing board. The most eventful were the stressed out weeks I had leading up to my colonoscopy…that is not an experience I ever want to repeat. There were also a lot of job interviews. As longtime readers know, I lost my job two years ago, and now that my kid is old enough to go to daycare, I can start looking for work again. Unfortunately, I’m not getting any bites. I was in a fairly competitive field, and that field seems to be getting hit hard with layoffs, so the competition is even stronger now. Again, more stress that is keeping me away from the drawing board.
Mark’s Vlog
While I haven’t been getting any drawing done, I have been recording a lot of video to edit into vlogs. I’ve posted roughly a dozen or so micro vlogs to YouTube Shorts and TikTok. Rather than spam you with them here, I have decided to make it its own thing, so you can follow Mark’s Vlog here on Patreon.
One of my first longer form vlog will about my colonoscopy, so you can look forward to that cringe-fest. I’m just waiting to hear the final results before publishing that one

I honestly don’t know when I’ll be able to commit to them again, but when I do, you’ll find them on Substack at Mark’s Newsletter. That is where all my projects will be announced and shared, so it won’t hurt to subscribe to that one. 😉
As For This Account…
As you can tell by the title, will be my podcast. It’s been about 13 years since I last sat down in front of a microphone, but I kinda miss it, so I will start posting regularly episodes of Mark’s Podcast, on a regular basis, by the end of the month. A huge part of the reason for this is simple, the job interviews. The jobs I’m applying for all require recent experience in podcasting, livestreaming and social media. Right now, I’m lacking in all those things…especially after I deleted all my old social media.😒
Sadly, no local companies that provide a pension and/or benefits are looking to hire a full time cartoonist. Any comic work I do has to be freelance or for my own personal enjoyment. This is why comics will take a back seat and become relegated to my Substack newsletter.
This is the driving force behind the rebrand. The podcast will cover various topics in various formats to prove I can do a variety of shows. I have been working on this almost every evening since January. Most of the episodes will be solo, some will be interviews, and if I can figure it out, I’ll try to set up a livestream call in show or two.
I’m thinking of this as a talk radio show where every episode revolves around a specific theme. One episode might be all about cryptids, while the next could focus on poets born in the late 1800s. I’ve got the first two solo shows scripted and on my laptop, I just need to record them. Once I have the first three “in the can.” I’ll post them here.
For now, Mark’s Vlog will be the more active account, so make sure you give me a follow over there!
As I write this, the temperature has hit 34°C, but feels like 46°C. I am going to take this opportunity to NOT mow the lawn and pray to all the gods that my ancient air conditioner can handle the workload over the next few days.
